2014 Get To Know Kick-Off Fun!


Let the Art and Nature begin!














2014 Get To Know Kickoff at the Nature Center at Watkins Regional Park!
Students from Northwestern High School, Paint Branch Elementary School and Rosa Parks Elementary School were welcomed to the event with GTK backpacks, drawing pads, pencils and PEPCO swag!  

Artists Penny Gamble-Williams, Joe Holliman, Gary Coltrane, Lee Ranta, Alpha Bruton and Larry Jones, in collaboration with county Naturalists offered exciting Art and Nature activities in the natural setting.





Students worked with the natural materials of the environment and created, Talking Sticks, Bird Sculptures, Drawings, Photographs
and a site specific installation.
The students arrived from their schools
and entered our outdoor classroom.
They departed more connected with nature and their creativity then when the arrived.
