GTK showcases Talking Sticks with artist Penny Williams-Gamble

Today our Prince Georges County Parks Get-to-Know.org artist
Penny Williams-Gamble was at the 2014 Cultural Arts Expo at the Equestrian Center in Upper Marlboro.

There were many interested visitors stopping by our table as Penny exhibited some of the Talking Sticks that she has made and demonstrated their process.

There is an excellent article from the Institute For American Indian Studies about Talking sticks that will guide you through making one with your family.

Cool experiences with Art and Nature

Parents-Grandparents-Aunties!

We have planned a naturally wonderful event to kickoff their 2014 contest!
Join us on May 2, 2014 Watkins Regional Park!
Project Artists and Naturalists worked together to map out an exciting set of hands on Art and Nature activities for PG County children at Watkins Regional Park in Upper Marlboro. Watkins Regional Park

The beautiful park has acres of trails and artists Penny Gamble-Williams, Larry  Jones,
Lee Ranta, and Gary Coltrane walked the trails with Naturalists Tommy and Brooke in search of marvelous natural materials to use in creating art with the children.
